Abstract:
To provide a method and an apparatus for simplifying the feed system to the cooker to be used in the production of chemical pulp.
When a slurry of finely crushed cellulose fiber material 113 is fed to the cooker 32, one of the tanks to be used in the feeding system 111 is the slurring pipe 118 for feeding the slurry to the slurry pump 121 and the functions of the liquid level control, the liquid storage, and the substantially continuous liquid feed to the feeding pump connected to the cooker 32 are integrally performed in combination by providing one single tank 85. In a preferred embodiment, this single tank has a structure surrounding the slurring pipe 118 in a substantial concentric circle and they are liquid connectable.
