Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a system for opening/closing control of an automatic convertible top which achieves quick opening/closing and control for protecting components from damage.
CONSTITUTION: Position sensors which sense the instantaneous positions of respective components 14, 24 and 26 of a convertible top 12 throughout their ranges of movement are provided at positions of the respective fulcrums 31, 32 and 33 of the components 14, 24 and 26. A controller which controls motors for driving the components in accordance with the instructions of the driver of a motor vehicle and sensed position information is provided.
