To provide a system and method for communication via medium propagation, whereby communication signals in a form of mechanical waves are transmitted from a transmitting side to a receiving side so as to achieve unidirectional or two-way signal communication.

The system and method for communication via medium propagation includes: a mechanical-wave generating module 2 at a transmission side and a mechanical-wave detecting/receiving module 3 at a receiving side. The mechanical-wave generating module 2 at the transmission side lateral mechanical waves and longitudinal mechanical waves on demand in the case of communication by medium propagation and transmits the mechanical waves 5 to the receiving side through the propagation of a medium being solid, liquid or gas. The mechanical-wave detecting/receiving module 3 at the receiving side receives/ detects the mechanical waves, reads the frequency and waveform of the mechanical waves 5 to receive the communication signal represented by the mechanical waves 5 and propagates the communication signal through the medium 4.
