To provide a system and a method for feeding material in which the material can be supplied without causing any damage on the core frame of a vacuum induction furnace.
A material is fed into the core frame CF in a vacuum chamber VC by means of a feed truck FT through a shooter ST. The feed truck FT comprises a material carrying path, i.e., a trough TF, and a vibrating section VB for vibrating the trough TF wherein the quantity of material being carried through the trough TF can be controlled by controlling the vibration amplitude at the vibrating section VB. When a small quantity of material is fed at first into the core frame CF and the residual material is fed at a stroke after the bottom part of the core frame CF is covered with the material, the core frame CF is not subjected to an impact causing a damage.
