Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for identifying a cause for component inventory excess/deficiency, capable of identifying a cause for an alert for component excess/deficiency which is an execution result of MRP.SOLUTION: A system stores production environment data for each of an MRP detail table, a warehousing/shipping detail table and a warehousing/shipping schedule table; executes MRP to update each of the tables in the production environment data; extracts a record for which a message is stored in the MRP detail table in connection with a component to create an exception table; identifies a cause for the exception by extracting a record for which no warehousing/shipping schedule is stored in the warehousing/shipping detail table to obtain an interruption shipping result, and extracting a warehousing/shipping schedule of added or canceled components on the basis of difference between the production environment data and backup data to create an excess/deficiency cause table; and further identifies a requirement for top-level products which is a root cause for the warehousing/shipping schedule.
