Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image type vehicle sensing system which detects only vehicles among moving bodies by securely removing only a shadow from an image obtained by an imaging means.
SOLUTION: The system comprises an imaging part 100 which photographs an image of an entry and sense area, an A/D conversion part 101 which converts analog image data into a digital signal, a multi-valued memory part 102 which stores the digital signal as multi-valued gradation data, difference image generation parts 103, 106, and 110 which generate time-difference images from frame images of a current frame and a last frame, projection value arithmetic parts 105 and 108 which generate projection images by computing the total of luminance values by lines, a differential image generation part 104 which performs differentiation processing in a direction perpendicular to the passing direction of a moving body, and AND processing parts 107 and 109 which performs AND processing for projection values.
