To provide a system or the like for managing energy of a book-binding machine, in which the consumption state of energy such as compressed air can be managed in the book-binding machine.

A system 1 for managing energy is used for managing consumption state of a book-binding machine 100. The system 1 for managing energy includes an air-flow meter 11 for measuring the consumption amount of compressed air for sheet separation in a paper sheet holding part 120, a watt-hour meter 12 for measuring the power consumption amount of the book-binding machine 100, and a sensor 13 for detecting presence of paper sheets 129a in the paper sheet holding part 120 at a carrying-out position. The air-flow meter 11, the watt-hour meter 12 and the sensor 13 respectively measure or detect the consumption amount of compressed air, the power consumption amount and presence of paper sheets 129a at a predetermined time interval, and the measurement result is transmitted to a logger 14 attached in a PC 15. The PC 15 displays these data on a display 156 as an energy managing display 200 in such a manner that these data are superposed one on another while times are uniformized.
