To provide a system and method for managing locations of parts capable of certainly managing the physical distribution and locations of the parts.
A first radio IC tag 4 into which part information is input is attached to each part 3, and an antenna 5 attached to a crane 2 is made to be adjacent to the first radio IC tag 4, and thus an electromagnetic wave or magnetic field is received from the first radio IC tag 4. A moving position of the crane 2 is detected by travel position sensors 6 and 7 disposed in the crane 2. A reader 8 and PC 9 read the part information of the first radio IC tag 4 from the electromagnetic wave or magnetic field received by the antenna 5, and acquire positional information of the crane 2 by the travel position sensors 6 and 7. A management server 12 receives the part information of the first radio IC tag 4 from the PC 9 and the positional information of the travel position sensors 6 and 7 via a network 11, records them, and manages the location position of each part.
