Abstract:
To provide a system and method for optimizing multimedia compression using plural encoders.
A multimedia stream is compressed in parallel by plural encoders, the compressed stream outputs of which are dynamically evaluated for merit. A best one of the compressed streams is transmitted, along with information regarding the particular compression algorithm that has been used, so that the receiver's decoder can decompress the stream for presentation.
