Abstract:

To provide a system for recovering waste heat of a heating unit for recovering waste heat of a heating medium heated by the heating unit without having adverse effect on the cooling performance of the heating unit such as an internal combustion engine cooled by circulation of the heating medium.

The system for recovering waste heat of a heating unit comprises a water-cooled internal combustion engine 10, a cooling-water circuit 20, a heater 210, and a Rankine cycle. In the cooling-water circuit 20, a radiator 21 is provided for cooling the cooling water circulating in the engine 10. The heater 210 heats a working fluid by making heat-exchange with the cooling water heated by the engine 10. A Rankine cycle circuit 200 includes an expansion device 220 generating driving force by expanding the working fluid evaporating by being heated by the heater 210. The heater 210 is placed parallel with the radiator 21 to the flow of the cooling water. Incidentally, the heater 210 is placed preferably in a bypass circuit 25 which is branched from between the engine 10 and the radiator 21 to join to the downstream of a radiator 21 by bypassing the radiator 21.
