Abstract:
A client unit (15) has a biometric characteristic reader unit for reading a biometric characteristic of the applicant. The client unit and a processor of a clerk unit (13) are arranged to communicate with each other. A processor of a computer (10) and the processor of the clerk unit are arranged to communicate with each other in the form of a secure session that makes use of a cryptographic key stored in a secure application module of the clerk unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a communication system; and (2) a method for supporting the issuing of an authorization document to an applicant.
