Title:
PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3123597
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing even when a width of a print head is not sufficient to cover a width of a paper, thereby reducing cost.
SOLUTION: A thermal line head 44a is supported by a head housing 44 in a sub-assay 40 and the head housing 44 is held to be vertically or rotatably moved in a body housing 42. The sub-assay 40 is supported with a lead screw and a sub-rail which are bridged between sub-frames in the lateral direction such that it can be driven reciprocatively in the lateral direction and a paper tray is disposed beneath the sub-assay 40 so as to be slidable back and forth. As a result, it is possible to perform printing on whole surface by using a thermal line head 44a of which width is smaller than that of a color thermally sensitive recording paper. The sub-assay 40 provides a structure that the thermal head 44a can be vertically moved, thereby facilitating assembling of the printer.
