Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shape a lid substitutable as a plate by turning over, and also shape the lid so usable even if the plate diameter is larger than the lid diameter.SOLUTION: In place of providing a lid with a projected knob or an antislip edge using a rugged shape, an angle for the horizontal line of a roughly concentric circle edge 2 is made about 60 degrees. Then, the edge 2 serves as a knob, resisting lateral slip, and facilitating a thin pile on a lid and a plate that have a similar edge shape. To put it the other way around, the lid becomes a plate (hereafter called a plate lid). With a shallow edge 3 (a space to the horizontal level: depth and width is about 5×20 mm) provided on the edge of the plate lid, and with the tip end made an acute angle, a space is made when the plate lid is put on a large plate 7, enabling a finger tip to catch the shallow edge 3 and making the piling up possible. Since the space is small, hermetic seal is hardly affected to save the time and labor of closing the space. The handle of a spoon 8 can be inserted in this space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
