PURPOSE: To provide the taking out head for a molding machine which can lightly hold a low-strength mold from above and below and turn over the molding.

CONSTITUTION: A receiving pawl 17 is provided on a head body 10 having a bottom plate clamp 16 of an opening and closing type and a receiving plate 20 is previously imposed atop this pawl. A receiving plate retainer 25 is previously provided on an upper bracket 22 which descends toward this receiving plate 20. A detector 26 stops the descending of the upper bracket 22 when the receiving plate retainer 25 is lifted to a prescribed extent by colliding against the receiving plate 20. The low-strength molding is prevented from being applied with excessive load from the receiving plate side.
