Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a user to simply exchange a tape only and use a plurality of kinds of tapes with one tape cassette by exchangeably holding a tape in a tape preparing device dedicated to printing on the tape.
CONSTITUTION: A lever 12 formed unitarily with a thermal head 11 is operated with the aid of a spring 23 to select a position of the thermal head 11. For example, when a tensile force of the spring 23 is made to work on the lever 12, the lever 12 is rotated counter-clockwise to locate the termal head 11 in a printing position. When a cassette case 19 is mounted on the main body 21 of a device, the thermal head 11 is positioned apart from the main body of the device and, when printing is carried out after mounting the cassette case 19 on the main body 21 of the device, the thermal head 11 is arranged to the printing position. The operation of rotating the lever 12 to arrange the thermal head 11 to the printing position or to the spaced position is conducted by a user.
