PURPOSE: To obtain a tape-covered wire excellent in insulation reliability, light and rich in flexibility by winding and covering a metal electric conductive wire with a tape-shaped film having prescribed characteristics.

CONSTITUTION: A type-covered wire is made liy winding a metal electric conductive wire in a type-shaped film. As this tape-shaped film, an aromatic group polyamide film having a thickness not exceeding 10μm, a surface roughness not less than 0.005μm, a Young's modulus in the longitudinal direction not less than 800kg/mm2, is used. Thereby, a tape-covered wire, having infrequent trouble, at the time of the manufacture, light weight and excellent flexibility can be obtained.
