PURPOSE: To smoothly guide a tape by providing a tape guide having guide bodies where a tape is wrapped, the surfaces of which are provided with air holes for jetting compressed air, so that the tape is floated and guided to lessen frictional resistance.

CONSTITUTION: A tape guide comprises guide bodies 17 and 18 (not shown) which are fixed vertically and with an outward gradient of 45° to a disc 6. Compressed air is supplied from a conduit 19 through a coupling 21 and a base portion 20 to the interior 17a of the guide body 17. Air holes 22, 22', 22", 23, 24 are bored extending from the hollow portion 17a to the surface of the guide body 17. When compressed air is supplied from the conduit 19 to the hollow portion 17a, the compressed air is dispersed and jetted from the above air holes to float a tape 13 wrapped round the surface of the guide body 17. Therefore, friction against the guide body 17 can be lessened extremely to guide the tape 13 smoothly the same may be said of the guide body 18.
