Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate the tapping flow rate, and to realize the excellent durability by suppressing the tapping from a melting furnace by the differential pressure between the inside of a pressure chamber and the internal pressure in the melting furnace making use of the pressure loss of the compressed air. SOLUTION: A compressed air source 9 such as a compressor and a blower is connected to a pressure chamber 7. When the tapping is controlled, the energization to a tapping coil 4 is stopped, and the compressed air is fed to the pressure chamber from the compressed air source 9. Because a lower opening end 6 of the pressure chamber 7 is opened in the atmosphere, a part of the compressed air fed to the pressure chamber 7 flows out into the atmosphere from the lower opening end 6. Because the sectional area of the lower opening end 6 is throttled compared with the sectional area of the pressure chamber 7, large pressure loss is generated in the compressed air flowing through the lower opening end 6. The differential pressure is generated between the inside of the pressure chamber 7 and the internal pressure of the melting furnace, and the differential pressure pushes the molten slag flowing down from a tap hole 2 upward to suppress the tapping.
