PURPOSE: To facilitate easy recognition of a target and to simplify the searching of the target, by driving a TV pickup device by means of a driving mechanism and then displaying both images that are picked up at present and in the past at a prescribed position on a screen.

CONSTITUTION: A TV pickup device 1 is driven by a driving mechanism 2, and the video signal picked up by the device 1 is processed by a signal processing circuit 5. This processed signal is stored in a storage cirucit 6. Thesignal sent from the circuit 6 is mixed up with the signal given from the device 1 through a signal mixing circuit 6. This mixed video signal is displayed on the screen of a TV picture receiver 3. Then the image picked up at present by the device 1 and the image picked up in the past by the device 1 and stored in the circuit 6 are displayed at a prescribed position on the screen. In such way, a target can be searched in an easy way.
