To provide a target system for obtaining location information about position on vehicles, using a positioning system in the alignment of a car.
A method using target system has the following features. The target body includes one or more target elements, a trigger and a point specifying device. The target element is arranged on the target body and is detectable by the positioning system. The trigger is positioned on the target body and is located remotely from the positioning system, and the trigger makes the positioning system operate, by selectively changing the detection of the one or more target elements by the positioning system. The point specifying device, extending from the target body, includes a point at its far end. The point can be placed near the position of a vehicle and is located at a known position from the target body. The positioning system, after detecting the target element arranged on the target body, defines the location of the target body.
