To paint a three-dimensional picture and design having shading by using a plurality of colors of color lacquer only depending on brush strokes.

This technique for painting color lacquer includes: a first process of applying color lacquer 4, 5 of different colors to both end sides 2a, 2b of one flat brush 1 so as not to mix the colors of the color lacquer 4, 5 with each other; a second process of generating a gradation in which the different colors are mixed in an intermediate part 2c, by pressing and rubbing the flat brush 1 to which the color lacquer 4, 5 of different colors is applied on a pallet 3 to blend the colors; and a third process of painting a picture or design by moving the flat brush 1 in which the color lacquer 4, 5 of different colors is applied to the respective both end sides 2a, 2b and the gradation having the color lacquer 4, 5 of different colors mixed with each other is generated in the intermediate part 2c, on the surface of a base to which treatment for preventing penetration of lacquer is applied.
