To provide a telephone call system for an elevator capable of recognizing situation ready for elevator service after recovery of control operation on an earthquake without inquiry to a monitoring center by a communication line.

The above problem can be accomplished by the telephone call system for the elevator provided with a seismometer operated when the earthquake with a predetermined seismic intensity or more occurs; an elevator control device for performing the control operation in an earthquake by an operation signal from the seismometer; an emergency call button and an interphone of a car; and a telephone call device for management of the monitoring center. In the telephone call system, the interphone in the car and the telephone call device for management of the monitoring center are connected to each other through the communication line. Informing means 6B, 9, 10 for informing a message that the elevator is ready for service when it is detected that any one of the emergency call button 4, an operation button 5 or a hall call button 8 is operated within a predetermined time after recovery of the control operation on the earthquake are provided.
