The television receiver capable of acquiring a broadcast signal composited with ID data for identifying a program has: an ID acquiring module for acquiring the ID data of a program currently viewed; a program searching module for searching a rebroadcasted program of the above program from an electronic program guide on the basis of the acquired ID data; a time counting module for counting an elapsed time to the subsequent start time of search if no programs are detected by the search of the program searching module; a search control module for causing the program searching module to search on the basis of the ID data which is not changed after the first time elapses from among the acquired ID data if the elapsed time is longer than a first time; and a search result display for causing a screen to display the searched program.
