PURPOSE: To dissolve a measuring operation under a severe operation environment by performing continuously and automatically a temperature measurement in the slipper part of a slipper metal type universal joint device without stopping the device even during the rotation driving of the device.
CONSTITUTION: A sheath part with a thermocouple housed in a stainless steel tube is mounted on a slipper metal 23, and a slipper metal temperature is measured. A conductor 29 to be connected to the sheath part can be shifted by the relative movements of coupling 22 and slipper metal 23, and is connected to a transmitter 30 fixed on a motor shaft 27. A FM wave is transmitted from a transmitting antenna 31 after frequency modulation and amplified by the transmitter 30.
