To provide a temporary operation device for an elevator capable of reducing the time needed for repair work of an elevator.
For repair work of an elevator, this temporary operation device is provided with a means for ascending/descending an elevator car 6 other than a hoist 3 serving as an existing driving device, namely, a hydraulic jack 30 including a plunger 12 jointed to the elevator car 6 by a supporting member 10, and a hydraulic cylinder 11 supported on a guide rail serving for balancing weight, a hydraulic unit 14 which is installed at a pit part inside a hoistway 5 and pressure-feeds hydraulic oil to a hydraulic cylinder 11, and a temporary driving device 40 mounted with an oil pipeline 13 connecting the hydraulic cylinder 11 to the hydraulic unit 14. By controlling the elevator car 6 with the temporary control device 15 and operating a temporary control panel 16 connected to a temporary controller 15 through a cable 17, it is possible to operate the elevator car 6.
