PURPOSE: To apply an elongation to a veneer without breaking or damaging the veneer by slightly altering the peripheral speed of a protrusion roll with respect to that of a receiving roll, slightly vibrating it in the axial direction of the protrusion roll near the side of the protrusion roll, and pressurizing the veneer with respect to the receiving roll.

CONSTITUTION: A vibration pressurizing member 12 is a rigid body made of U-shaped metal, etc., its pressurizing face is so formed as to smoothly vibration- pressurizing a veneer A, and a vibrator 13 is so provided as to dispose a plurality of the members near the side of a protrusion roll 6. The vibrating direction of the vibrator 13 is brought into coincidence with a direction substantially perpendicular to the axial center direction of a shaft 8, i.e., the conveying direction of the veneer A. The vibration pressurizing member 12 provided at the vibrator 13 is vibration-pressurized to a receiving roll 2 by the veneer A near the side of each protrusion roll 6. The protrusion roll 6 is so rotatably driven that the peripheral speed is slightly accelerated or decelerated with respect to that of the receiving roll 2.
