PURPOSE: To increase the range of the torque ratio and revolution ratio by connecting a geared motor through a clutch onto a main motor shaft and detecting the relation between the revolution speed and torque of the above- described both motors and carrying out control through the proper selection.
CONSTITUTION: The revolution speed of a clutch 4 on a main motor 2 side is always detected by an encoder 7, and the line speed is detected by an encoder 11, and the revolution speed of a taking-up shaft is controlled by the second line controller 9 which receives the outputs of both encoders 7 and 11. When the revolution speed of the taking-up shaft becomes equal to a set value, the clutch 4 is connected, and control to each of the set revolution speed and torque is performed by the first controller 8. Therefore, when a large torque is necessary (the winding diameter becomes larger than that on start), the clutch 4 is connected, and in the intermediate state, taking-up is carried out at a relatively high speed by the main motor 2. If the procedures of the above-described operation is previously inputted into setting device, the state of a taking-up machine 1 is detected, and the first or second controller 8 or 9 into which said state is inputted preforms proper control, and all the operations can be carried out automatically.
