Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a drug inhibiting a teratogenesis induced by the administration of a medicine such as valproic acid by combining a Bupleuri Radix hot water extract solution with a hot water extract solution of cinnamon and Paeonia albiflora.

CONSTITUTION: A mixture of Bupleuri Radix, Paeonia albiflora, Pinella ternata, Zizyphus vulgaris, Scutellariae Radix, Panax ginseng, Glycyrrhiza glabra and Zingiber offcinale in a ratio of 6-8:5-7:4-8:3-5:3-5:2-4:2-4:1-3:0-4 (preferably 7:6:5:4:4:3:3:2:1) as constituting galenicals is boiled a 10-20 times volume of water, followed by removing the residues to provide a teratogenesis-inhibiting agent. The galenicals mxied in the above-mentioned ratio are subjected to processes comprising thermal extraction, solid-liquid extraction, concentration and drying to provide a dried extract powder, which is mixed with an excipient, etc., and shaped into granules that is convenient for carrying and easily orally administered.
