To provide a tether system for a combination of a safety seat and a base of the type pivotably mounted with the safety seat between a forward facing position and a backward facing position.

The tether system comprises at least one fastening point on a back face support, this tether strap mounted to the head end of the safety seat, and a tether connector provided on the tether strap so as to be mounted to the fastening point when the seat is in the backward facing position. The tether connector is a hook engaged with an opening, a bracket or a recessed part on the back face support. The tether connector at least on one side can be easily detached so as to be accessible to the child safety-seat to put the child on the safety seat or to put the child down from the seat.
