PURPOSE: To provide the subject composition composed of a specific polyether (mixture) and a tetrafluoroethane, miscible with tetrafluoroethane at an arbitrary ratio within a broad working temperature range and having low hygroscopicity and excellent lubricity.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be produced by mixing (A) one or more kinds of polyethers expressed by formula [R1 is alkylene; R2 is acyl or H; l is a positive number to give a kinetic viscosity of 5-400cSt (40°C); n is positive number of 4-8; X is residue obtained by removing active hydrogen groups from a compound having 4-8 active hydrogen groups] and (B) a tetrafluoroethane preferably consisting of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R-134a) at a weight ratio (A/B) of 1/99 to 99/1 (preferably 5/95 to 60/40).
