To provide a text voice synthesizer which can read even an unknown face character aloud without reading its constituting symbols, character by character, while minimizing an increase in memory size in limited resource environment.

The text voice synthesizer is composed of a text analysis part 11, a face character reading imparting part 12 which gives a reading as a face character to a partial character string decided as characters corresponding to the face character through text analysis, and a voice synthesis part 13 which outputs a synthesized voice according to the analysis result of the text analysis part; and the face character reading imparting part comprises a face character decision part 21 which decides whether symbols constitute the face character by using an outline symbol table, a feature extraction part 22 which extracts the feature symbols used for the face character by using a feature symbol table and imparts the reading numbers made to correspond to the respective feature symbols, and a reading selection part 23 which outputs the reading assigned to the extracted reading numbers and imparts the reading to the face character string according to the number of the featured symbols appearing in the face characters.
