PURPOSE: To provide a textile spacer material to which arbitrary functions such as flame retardancy, water absorbency, water repellency and chemical resistance can be imparted, by integrally binding upper and lower cover layers with cushion yarns.

CONSTITUTION: This textile spacer material of 2.5- or 3-dimensional shape is formed by integrally binding upper and lower flat cover layers 1, 2 which comprise mutually different kinds of woven fabrics, mesh-knitted fabrics or their mixtures produced from a natural, mineral, metal or synthetic fiber material or a multicomponent material containing at least one of the materials to each other directly or through a textile intermediate layer. A liquid, gaseous or powdery substance for imparting a characteristic such as flame retardancy, water absorbency, water repellency or chemical resistance is added to at least one of both the cover layers 1, 2, and one or more kinds of fillers, chemical substances and physical effect-imparting substances is further added to the cushion yarns 3, thereby imparting a desired function to the textile spacer material.
