This textile treating agent comprises an aqueous dispersion prepared by dispersing (A) (A-1) an ethylene-polar monomer copolymer and/or (A-2) an olefinic elastomer and at least one kind of modifying agent selected from (B) an ionomer resin and (C) a low-molecular weight polyolefin in water. At least one kind of compound selected from (D) an acid-modified polyolefin compound and (E) a 25-60C fatty acid compound may further be formulated in the textile treating agent.
