Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a dew-point corrosion phenomenon whereby a sulfur component in a combustion gas bonds with moisture and sulfuric acid is generated and thereby metal is corroded occurs when a high temperature gas is cooled and the sulfur component is included in the combustion gas in a thermal decomposition treatment system for an article to be treated.
SOLUTION: In this thermal decomposition treatment method, the article to be treated is heated by a hot air gas so as to be thermally decomposed in a thermal decomposition furnace 1, and a decomposition gas thus obtained is burned in a gas combustion furnace 4. A combustion exhaust gas from the gas combustion furnace 4 is cooled to a gas temperature whereby the dew-point corrosion does not occur by heat exchange by gas to gas in a primary cooling means 5. Then, a fresh air is supplied to the cooled gas in a secondary cooling means 6 so that the gas is further cooled.
