PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal head power supply circuit which can automatically set the most suitable supply voltage, by providing a head voltage calculation circuit which calculates an output that corresponds to an output of an A/D converter, a D/A converter and a constant-voltage power source.
CONSTITUTION: A temperature of a thermal head is detected by a temperature sensor 2, and the detected signal is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 6 and is output, and the voltage which corresponds to the above output temperature data is calculated by a head voltage calculation circuit 7, and the calculated value is converted into a standard voltage by a D/A converter 8, and a constant-voltage power source 10 outputs, based on the standard voltage, a constant-voltage to the thermal head. Therefore, in response to the changes of the temperatures of the thermal head, the head voltage calculation circuit 7 sets the most suitable standard voltage, and thus, automatically adjust the supply voltage to the thermal head.
