Title:
THERMAL HEAD AND PRINTING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60214975
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure that a thermal head is hardly abraded and prevent paper dusts from being generated, by a construction wherein the first and second projected parts are provided on a substrate, the first projected part is provided with a heating resistor, and a pattern for supplying an electric current to the resistor is so provided as to pass through the second projected part.

CONSTITUTION: A heating projected part 11 and a non-heating projected part 12 are provided on the same substrate 2 at both ends of the latter, by the same manufacturing step. Partial glazes 10, 10' for the projected parts are provided on the substrate 2, and a resistor layer 3 is provided thereon. A leading-in pattern 4 and a common pattern 4' are further provided thereon, and finally, the whole surface is covered by a protective layer 6. Although both of the projected parts 11, 12 are simultaneously provided so that the projected surfaces thereof are at the same level, the projected surfaces are set at heights h1, h2 from respective reference surface thereof. Accordingly, the pattern 4 can be provided without avoiding the part raised by the presence of the partial glaze 10', so that it is unnecessary to enlarge the thermal head.
