Abstract:
To provide a thermal printer configured so that a dimension of a gap between a thermal head and a platen roller and an angle at which the thermal head contacts a surface of a heat-sensitive paper can be maintained with high accuracy.SOLUTION: The thermal printer comprises: a frame; a platen roller rotatably supported on the frame through a bearing; a thermal head arranged opposing to the platen roller; a support member that supports the thermal head turnably with respect to the frame; and a gap holding member, provided at either one of a member constituting the platen roller and a member constituting the thermal head, which holds a dimension of a gap between the thermal head and the platen roller constantly by contacting the other one of the member constituting the platen roller and the member constituting the thermal head, with a certain distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
