Abstract:

To provide a thermal recording material exhibiting excellent image preservability, heat resistant preservability in particular, plasticizer resistance and light resistant preservability.

In the thermal recording material having a thermal recording layer and containing a normally colorless or light-colored electron-donating dye precursor and an electron-receptive compound reacting on heating with the dye precursor and developing the color thereof, a specified electron-receptive compound such as an N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)thio] acetamide and an N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)thio] acetamide or the like, and the dye precursor having a covering layer formed of an organic polymer provided on the particle surface, are contained in the thermal recording layer to obtain a thermal recording material excellent in image preservability, heat resistant preservability in particular, plasticizer resistance and light resistant preservability.
