Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material stable in color forming capacity before use by providing a thermal recording layer containing a specific imino compd., an aromatic isocyanate compd. and a zinc compd. on a support.
CONSTITUTION: Substituted or non-substituted 1,3-diimino-isoindoline, aromatic isocyanate and a zinc compd. are compounded with an aqueous soln. of polyvinyl alcohol in respective predetermined amts. to be stirrd and dispersed to prepare a coating soln. for thermal recording layer. This coating soln. is applied to a support such as paper, synthetic paper or a synthetic resin film to form the thermal recording layer to produce a thermal recording material. As a concrete example of substituted or non-substituted 1,3-diimino-isoindoline, there is 1,3- diimino-6-chloroisoindoline or 1,3-diimino-4,5,6-tetrachloroisoindoline. As a concrete example of the zinc compd., there are zinc N-dialkylated dithiocarbamate, a zinc powder, zinc chloride and the like.
