To provide a thermal recording medium in which change of heat sensibility with the lapse of time is prevented, and stable recording with high sensibility is performed.

The thermal recording medium is provided with a thermal recording layer consisting of at least leuco dye, a developer and an organic solvent-soluble resin and with an over-layer laminated on the thermal recording layer. Resin whose glass transition point is ≥90°C is contained in the thermal recording layer at ≥10 wt.% of total solid content in the thermal recording layer. Also, ultraviolet curing resin is contained in the over-layer at ≥30 wt.% of total solid content in the over layer.
