To provide a thermal relay having required functions with the limited number of components.
A thermal relay is provided with an always open fixed contact and an always closed fixed contact, a moving contact which can be displaced to a costant position which closes the always closed fixed contact in a housing and a tripping position which opens the always closed fixed contact, a moving iron core which is displaced both ways to an exciting position and a non-exciting position by excitation/non-excitation of an electromagnet, a first energizing means which is installed in the housing and energizes the moving iron core to be displaced to the non-exciting position, a second energizing means which is installed in the housing and energizes the moving contact to be displaced to the tripping position, a latch which is connected rotatably with the moving contact and the moving iron core and is rotated by a both-way variation and is rotating around a connection position which is connected with a stopping part and holds the moving contact at the fixed position resisting an energizing force of the second energizing means and a non-connection position which disconnects the connection part.
