PURPOSE: To form a thermally sprayed film of ceramics, etc., having an excellent adhesive property on the surface of a base material having high hardness by completing the timing when a thermal spraying procedure is executed before the heat treatment to improve the hardness of the base material, then executing the heat treatment.

CONSTITUTION: The thermal spraying procedure is completed while the hardness before the hardening treatment is low. The thermally sprayed film is imparted with the high adhesive strength to the base material by an anchor effect. The anchor effect is surer if a thermal spraying method by high density energy is used as a thermal spraying means. The base material is thereafter subjected to the heat treatment necessary for attaining the hardness required for the base material.
