Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal storage medium composition capable of taking out a great latent heat and repetitively usable for a long period and provide a thermal storage apparatus using the composition.
CONSTITUTION: This thermal storage medium composition is obtained by blending water with anhydrous sodium sulfate, calcium sulfate dihydrate, sodium borate decahydrate, water glass and hydrochloric acid. The amount of the blended calcium sulfate dihydrate is 0.1-2.9wt.% and that of the blended hydrochloric acid is 0.1-10wt.% expressed in terms of 35% hydrochloric acid. Furthermore, this thermal storage apparatus contains the thermal storage medium composition 3 filled in a cylindrical container 2 and the sodium borate decahydrate is unevenly distributed on the end faces 6 and 6A or the inner peripheral surface 9 in the cylindrical container.
