PURPOSE: To reduce contamination of a recording medium, power consumption, and noise of a facsimile device by a method wherein even though image data to be recorded of one line is composed of only white pixels, and if the image data of the next line is the one in which black pixels and white pixels are intermingled, both of an ink sheet and the recording medium are conveyed.

CONSTITUTION: An image data (DATA) wherein black pixel data and white pixel data are intermingled in one line is transferred at t=T1. If finished, a latch signal (LATCH) is outputted. After rotating W-motor (recording motor) by one line, a strobe is outputted at t=T2 according to the end of transfer of a 'black 1' data. After the output of the latch signal (LATCH) of the transfer of data 'white 2' of a white line at t=T3 and the drive (W2) of the W-motor (recording motor), a strobe signal (STB0-3) is outputted ('white 2'). In the case where white line data exist, both of an ink sheet and recording paper are thus conveyed.
