PURPOSE: To certainly perform the transfer of ink regardless of the surface unevenness of a recording medium, by acting electrostatic force between the ink and the recording medium during a time when the ink shows a sticky molten state by proper cooling property after ink is heated.
CONSTITUTION: An ink ribbon 1 and recording paper 2 are superposed by a guide 14 so as to interpose ink therebetween and supplied below the heat generating resistor element 4 of a thermal head 3. The ink 20 of the ink ribbon 1 is heated by the heat generated by the heat generating resistor element 4 and melted or becomes sticky at a temp. exceeding the sticking temp. thereof to be adhered to the recording paper 2. Regions A not adhered to the recording paper 2 are generated but the ink ribbon 1 and the recording paper 2 are fed between opposed electrodes 6, 7 in a superposed state. The ink keeps a sticky or molten state because of the over-cooling property thereof and the ink held under the sticky or molten state is attracted to the recording paper 2 by the action of the alternating electric field between the opposed electrodes 6, 7 and contacted with the recording paper 2 more closely.
