To provide a printing method of a thermal transfer recording device which can implement the printing over the whole surface of a recording paper without using any special transfer roller, implement the printing on both sides of the recording paper by a single printing part, and improve the maintainability, and the thermal ink-transfer recording device.
The thermal transfer recording device comprises an image forming part 4 to form an image to be recorded by closely attaching a dyeing sheet 2 having a dyeing layer to an ink sheet 3 having a color agent layer, selectively heating this ink sheet 3, and transferring the color agent layer to the dyeing layer, a thermal ink-transfer fixing part 5 to press the image formed on the dyeing sheet 2 against a recording paper 1, and transfer and fix the image to one side of the recording paper 1, and an inverting and carrying device 6 independent from the thermal ink-transfer fixing part 5 which stores the recording paper 1 with one side thereof already transferred, inverts the face side and the reverse side of this recording paper 1, and carries the recording paper again to the thermal ink-transfer fixing part 5.
