To obtain a sufficient printing density dealing with an acceleration of a printing speed of thermal transferring by providing a dye layer obtained by blending with a specific pigment dye on a thermal transfer sheet to form the sheet, and blending at least one type of specific plasticizer within an acceptive layer of a thermal transfer image receiving sheet.
The thermal transfer recording material is manufactured by a thermal transfer sheet having a dye layer provided on at least one surface of a base material sheet and a thermal transfer image receiving sheet having an acceptive layer provided on at least one surface of a base material, the dye layer and the acceptive layer are superposed, and a dye in the dye layer is transferred to the acceptive layer by a heating means. In this case, the acceptive layer contains a phenoxy resin, and an yellow dye layer of the dye layer contains at least one type selected from a cellulose ester and a quinophthalon dye represented by the formula (wherein R1 to R5 are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, 1-8C alkyl group or the like, R7, R8 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, cycloalkyl group or the like).
