Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal transfer recording material giving a clear trans fer-recorded image, by forming a thermally transferrable ink comprising a coloring agent dispersed in a heat-fusible binder into the shape of a body of rotation, while incorporating paraffin wax and stearic acid into the binder.

CONSTITUTION: An ink roll 1 of a thermal transfer recording material has a cylindrical shape, has an outer peripheral surface formed of a thermally transferrable ink, and may comprise a core member 11 formed of a metal, a resin or the like at an inside part thereof. The ink constituting the ink roll 11 comprises a coloring agent such as a dye, a pigment or the like dispersed in a heat-fusible binder. The binder comprises paraffin wax and stearic acid as essential constituents. The paraffin wax preferably has a melting point of 50W80°C, and stearic acid preferably has a melting point of 70W73°C.
