Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow only a genuine thermal transfer sheet to be used for facsimile equipment by configuring the facsimile equipment such that the facsimile equipment can reach reception recording enable state while the thermal transfer sheet is set in the case that an authentication number of the thermal transfer sheet is decided to be correct.
SOLUTION: In the case that the user of facsimile equipment uses a thermal transfer sheet to thermally transfer and record reception contents via a communication channel on the thermal transfer recording sheet, the facsimile equipment is connected to a host system of a facsimile equipment manufacture via a communication channel. Then the user uses the communication channel to enter an authentication number provided to the thermal transfer sheet in use to the host system. The host system checks whether or not the authentication number is equivalent to the registered number and only when the host system decides the authentication number to be correct, the facsimile equipment can perform receiving and recording.
