PURPOSE: To facilitate the attachment of recording paper to a deice by causing the first and the second pressure contact roller to be separated from a platen roller when the tip of recording paper reaches between a paper ejection shaft and a paper ejection pressure contact roller, and load the recording paper into a thermal transfer recording device.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal head 30 is separated from a platen roller 25 when the tip of recording paper 23 crosses the second contact pressure roller 50b, so that the tip of the recording paper 23 passes a paper rejection shaft 28 and a paper rejection pressure contact roller 29 to some extent. That is, the tip is transported to a position where the recording paper 23 is detected by a sensor 56. At that time, if the recording paper 23 is not detected within a predetermined time, a device judges that trouble such as paper jam occurs and ends the operation with display of an error. After this, the first and the second pressure contact roller 50 are separated from the platen roller 25, and the recording paper 23 is transported by a value of correction for the skew of the recording paper 23 by means of an appropriate tensile strength generated by a paper ejection roller 28 with an about 6% higher peripheral velocity using the platen 25. Then the attachment action of the recording paper is terminated.
